Technical and financial support from Australian NGO
Recognising the experience and skills embodied in Vision for Homes, Partner Housing Australasia (Building) Incorporated (http://partnerhousing.org) became a partner in 2010, providing pro bono technical support, advice on governance and, on a project by project basis, limited enabling funding. Technical support is provided in the form of advice on design and construction of buildings and water and sanitation systems as well as in the preparation of modules for the building skills training course. Members of PHAB visit Vision for Homes at least twice per annum to review work in progress and provide on-the-ground technical support and assist with the training course.
PHAB worked with Vision for Homes to establish a construction process based on prefabricating a building’s frames at Vision for Homes’ premises in Mt Hagen. Prefabrication is designed to ensure consistent, high quality building construction and lower costs.
